The women behind Her Spirit

Mel Berry and Holly Woodford created Her Spirit to help women of all ages become fitter, stronger, and healthier. Their approach rejects quick fixes and one-size-fits-all advice in favour of achievable changes and steady support. "Together we've got this" is the mantra that guides the community and unites the women in it.

The community helps members work through mental and physical challenges alongside coaches and other women doing the same. That mutual support is part of the service, alongside classes, plans, courses, meditations, recipes, and challenges.

Leaving social media behind

Her Spirit had built a following on social media, but members often felt too exposed to talk honestly about their health. The public setting worked against the personal support Mel and Holly wanted to provide.

The business needed a private space where women could share challenges without the pressure of a public feed. It also needed to deliver paid fitness programmes, keep coaches close to member progress, and run sustainably without depending on social-platform algorithms.

An all-in-one fitness home

The Her Spirit app brings live-streamed classes, on-demand sessions, meditations, recipes, content libraries, groups, events, and community challenges into one place. As the team put it, "being fit and healthy shouldn't be a chore but something you love to do."

Members can follow structured programmes and talk openly with coaches and one another. The app is free to download, selected classes are available on demand, and a 14-day trial gives people a way to experience the premium service before joining. Paid members get specialist coaches, plans, courses, weekly live classes, challenges, and rewards.

Relationships that pay their way

The private setting has increased engagement and made it easier for women to share real challenges and get real support. Coaches can follow each member's progress and respond in the same space where the programme is delivered. "Having a central space that allows us to store and publish meditations, fitness regimes, recipes, community challenges, on-demand videos and Livestreams has been a huge factor in our success," the team say.

90% of Her Spirit's revenue now comes through the app, giving Mel and Holly a sustainable model without public social media—and keeping control of the platform, content, and member experience in their hands.
